RELATIONSHIP
BETWEEN OWNER, ENGINEER AND CONTRACTOR:
1. (i) Correlation
between Owner and Engineer: Owner finances the work and
employs an engineer to perform his professional duties. It is the
responsibility of an engineer to plan things for the owner economically.
2. (ii) Correlation between an Engineer and Contractor: Contractor executes the work in supervision of an engineer. Contractor has to work as per design, drawings. Close cooperation between engineer and contractor is required for economical and quality work.
Engineer has to give instructions
in advance. Contractor has to do the work as per specification faithfully

(i)
Money:
Money should be arranged before starting any work. Regular supply of money keep
things moving smoothly. If the finances are insufficient, the project will not
be completed, and there will be wastage of time and energy.
(ii)
Materials:
Sufficient quantity of materials as estimated are required, should be available
at site.
Material
accounts for 60% of the cost of the project. Proper care should be taken while
stacking or storing materials.
(iii)
Machine or Equipment
: Many types of machineries are required for various types of works. Machines
are used for heavy and large works.
(iv)
Man
: Both skilled and unskilled labour is required for successful completion of
any project. Labour is the oldest resource. Even for operating different types
of machines men are required.
(v)
Management:
It is set of administration whose function is to plan, organize, control and
coordinate the use of other resources to achieve the goal.
